The focus today is on outdoor projects and indoor painting that will transform the space and help us create a more inviting and profitable rental.

Morning: Starting the Day

Outdoor Priorities

  • Location: Palm Springs means outdoor spaces are key.

  • Projects: Installing new fences, setting up the fire pit, and ensuring the outdoor area is guest-ready.

Mid-Morning: Indoor Focus

While the handyman worked on outdoor improvements, I got started on the indoor makeover.

Indoor Projects

  1. Neon Sign Setup: I’ll be framing a neon sign on the wall, ensuring it's perfectly aligned with the table and light fixture.

  2. Bathroom Makeover: Last night, I painted the back bathroom a deep brown, hoping to make the shower blend in more subtly. I plan to add a fun lemon stencil on the walls for a pop of color.

  3. Wall Preparation: I started taping off the big wall I’m painting today. Taping a wall can be tricky, so I fueled up with coffee before tackling this.

Afternoon: Progress Outdoors

The outdoor space is coming together!

Outdoor Updates

  • New Fence Installation: Both sides of the property now have fresh, clean fences.

  • Fire Pit Setup: The fire pit is finally in place! I’m absolutely obsessed with the look, although I may need to space out the seating a bit more.

  • Lawn Bowling Area: Getting the bowling lane ready for some fun lawn games.

  • Hiding Pool Equipment: Installed another fence to keep the pool equipment out of sight.

Evening: Wrapping Up Day 2

It’s been a productive day, but I’m exhausted! Here’s what’s left to finish today and what’s coming up:

Final Touches

  1. Primary Room Decor: I added a stripe behind the bed in the primary room where a neon sign will hang. It’s going to be a cute and stylish focal point.

  2. Dining Room Stripe: I’m also painting a new stripe in the dining room with plans to add another neon sign there. The color palette will focus on pink tones to draw attention and create a “hero image” for Airbnb.

Next Steps

  • Shopping Trip: I plan to head to HomeGoods to find some outdoor tables that will complement the pool chairs.

  • More Painting: I’ll continue working little by little, as there’s still a lot left to do.
